Last but not least, I do thoroughly enjoy entertainment in science. No I do not enjoy being in a University and called a PhD student because my own social circle thinks that I haven’t gotten a job, that I’m incapable of being an adult, lack society skills and that I’m a nerd for studying for so long. Oh yes, the classic problem of being viewed as a student still studying in University. Generally speaking, Twitter has been really great for me as it reassures me that I’m not alone, and that some of my thoughts and experiences are shared with others across the globe. Some things are harder to relate than others depending on your career stage or what your experience is or where you’re based in. Twitter is an amazing home for scientists of all stages.
